Developments of ICT-based Educational Resources for Secondary School Mathematics in Korea

Abstract

Rapidly changing contemporary Information Communication and Technology requires drastic changes both in contents and methods of mathematics education. The current 7th Korean mathematics curriculum strongly recommends to use ICT for instruction. A project funded by KRF has being carried out during 2002-2003 to develop ICT-based educational resources for secondary school mathematics. Activities with computer softwares such as GraphWiz, GSP, and Excel, etc. and graphic calculators were developed in accordance with the 7th Korean mathematics curriculum. In this paper, the characteristics and contents of this project will be presented with several activities.
